Our fourth suit style is the double breasted jacket. A conservative design with two vertical rows of buttons, one column of buttons is decorative and the other is functional. Stylistically our double breasted jackets follow tradition with a peak lapel and fasten left lapel over right lapel as is usual for men's jackets. Double breasted jackets traditionally either have a double vent at the back or no vent at all. This is a jacket that really needs to be worn buttoned up to create the real impact of authority these suits create.

Double breasted suits were popular in the mid 1930's until the late 1950's, and again from the 1980's to the mid 1990's. Today these jackets continue to be produced and advocated by the high-end menswear companies including Ralph Lauren and all top bespoke tailors.

What is so great about our double breasted jackets is while they come with all the styling of a Saville Row suit and mostly certainly create that same impact when worn, they do not come with a Saville Row price tag. The original double breasted jacket has six buttons as featured here however some shorter men may find that six buttons overwhelms their short torso, so we also offer a four button option. The four button double breasted jacket that buttons at the lower button is often called the 'Kent', after the Duke of Kent who made this jacket style so popular.
